The PTC 2004 Spider Assembly has been engineered for reliable power and torque transmission through the propeller shaft universal joint while allowing necessary angles of movement within the driveline.
The PTC 2004 Spider Assembly includes a machined spider or cross with four trunnion arms and bearing support points. In addition, the spider assembly works as an integral part of the universal joint, transferring power rotation between components of the propeller shaft during harsh conditions of equipment work.
The spider assembly is a wear part and it should be checked periodically for excessive joint play, unusual vibrations, strange noises, bearing wear and any damage. Replacement is suggested in case of excess clearance or wear of components and during scheduled propeller shafts and drivelines overhauls.
