In fine-grading passes, motor graders such as the Komatsu GD605 rely on the smoothness of power throughout the driveline to maintain control of the blade. That torque transfer doesn't change because of the spider inside the universal joint, and when it wears, drivers often experience steering lag or a ‘knocking’ vibration in the vicinity of the drive shaft. PTC 1067 is produced to fit Komatsu 232-20-52112 in cross diameter, trunnion length and bearing seat tolerance so it can fit into the existing joint housing in the Komatsu GD605.
The cross is made of alloy steel, which is hardened on the bearing contact surfaces to withstand wear due to continuous rotation and load reversal that occurs during grading operations. The enclosed cap ensures that grease is contained and prevents dust from entering, especially on road-building and site-levelling operations.
